4 building Evaluation Placards: Inspected; Restricted Use; Preprinted Restricted Use; and Unsafe

After undergoing postearthquake safety evaluation, buildings are posted with one of the above placards, as modified in the ATC-20-2 report, Addendum to the ATC-20 Postearthquake Building Safety Evaluation Procedures (ATC, 1995). These are generic placards that can be modified to fit the needs of local building departments. There are two versions of the Restricted Use placard: One has a place for restrictions to be entered; the other has check boxes and preprinted restrictions.

Full-sized (11" x 8.5") black and white copies of the placards may be downloaded in (PDF) format by selecting one of the above images. Examples of the use of these placards along with the Rapid Evaluation Safety Assessment Form are given in the ATC-20-3 Report, Case Studies in Rapid Postearthquake Safety Evaluation of Buildings (ATC, 1996)
