Guidelines for the Seismic Rehabilitation of Buildings

Hawaii, September 30, 1996

ATC is sponsoring a half-day seminar on the "Guidelines for the Seismic Rehabilitation of Buildings" (ATC-33 project) to be held on September 30, 1996 in Hawaii. The seminar is being held in conjunction with the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC), and as an opening to their annual convention which will take place October 1-6, 1996 in Maui.

The purpose of the Seminar is to provide a one-half day tutorial for structural engineering practitioners and building officials on Guidelines for the Seismic Rehabilitation of Buildings. The FEMA-funded Guidelines and companion Commentary provide performance-based engineering concepts and other significant new features that depart significantly from previous seismic codes.

The ATC seminar will be held at the Royal Waikaloan Hotel on the Island of Hawaii. Additional information on the seminar can be obtained by contacting Patty Christofferson at the ATC office. (e-mail: pchristofferson@atcouncil.org)
