Chiara McKenney Chiara joined ATC in 2020. As a project manager, Chiara guides the development of new ATC publications and facilitates the dissemination of existing ATC resources. Prior to joining ATC, Chiara spent six years as a consulting engineer, where her work included seismic retrofits, new construction, building alterations, and seismic protection of nonstructural components. Internationally, she has supported the development of seismic retrofit and new construction designs for masonry buildings in Nepal and Haiti. She participated in post-earthquake investigations following the 2014 South Napa and 2019 Albania earthquakes. In 2020, Chiara was named a Housner Fellow of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute. She has served as a Director on the Board of the EERI Northern California Chapter, a Lead Instructor with Engineers Alliance of the Arts, and a member of the Editorial Board for the World Housing Encyclopedia. Chiara is licensed as a structural engineer and civil engineer in California. |
